The Tab Store allows you to purchase professionally produced, full-score transcriptions across a variety of genres. Purchased tabs can be sync'd to any iOS device you own, and are yours for as long as you own TabToolkit.
Your account is created the first time you purchase a tab. Tap the "Tab Store" option (iPad) or the "+" icon (iPhone/iPod) and select a tab for purchase. You will be prompted for a valid email address which we can use to manage your password, and restore your account to other devices in the future.
If you're restoring TabToolkit to a new device, tap the "Tab Store" option (iPad) or the "+" icon (iPhone/iPod) and select "Account". Enter the email you used on your older device, and the password you were sent when you first purchased a tab. Tap "Restore", and all your previously purchased tabs will be made available for download.
Within the Tab Store, the "Featured" section provides a brief list of our newest and most popular tabs. You can also select "Browse" to view tabs by Artist, Genre or Instrument. Purchased tabs are immediately made available in your main Tab list.

TabToolkit supports the following types of tabs:
Guitar Pro and Power Tab are “rich” file types, and thus support a greater range of functionality. For these types, you can play along with the music as it automatically scrolls across the screen while being kept on beat with a metronome. If the playback is too fast or you don't need to see a fretboard, you can change the tempo or adjust the display options from the options screen. On the home screen, these tab types are denoted by a musical note symbol.

The text file types (PDF and text files) have a limited amount of information, and are in an unstructured format. As a result, the types of interaction are very limited. On the home screen, these tab types are denoted by the letter “T”.
If you'd like to see a particular type of tab file supported by TabToolkit, don't hesitate to let us know! You can do so by pressing “Feedback” at the bottom of this screen, and then pressing the “Suggestion” button.

There are 2 ways to add your personal tabs to TabToolkit.
If you have tab files on your computer that you'd like to add to TabToolkit, tap the “Transfer" button (iPhone/iPod users tap "+" first). You'll be shown an IP address. Leave this screen open while proceeding to the next step.
If you open a web browser on your computer and type in this address, you'll connect to your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. From there, you can simply select which tab files you'd like to add. You may also scroll down the page and select tabs to download to your computer for safe keeping.
Note: your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch and computer must be on the same wireless network to transfer tab files in this way.
If you'd like to download tab files from the Internet, simply click “+” and then"Transfer" on the home screen on your iPhone/iPod, or "Transfer" on your iPad, then press the button marked “Download Tabs”. This will open a web browser, enabling you to download tab files directly to your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.
For the rich file formats, TabToolkit displays two types of notation: tablature notation (or “tab” notation), and standard music notation. Text tab files are usually represented in tab notation or are simply a list of chords.
Tab notation is a way of representing music for stringed instruments. By indicating finger positions and which strings to play, this type of notation is more indicative of how the musician should play a piece, as opposed to what notes should be played. As a result, tab notation is typically easier to learn.

When viewing tab notation alone, TabToolkit will also display rhtythm notation to indicate the beats of each note. * Note that this option will only appear when standard notation is disabled.

As opposed to tab notation, standard music notation represents the notes that should be played, as opposed to how to actually play them.

You can choose to play back as few or as many instruments in a tab file as you want.
While viewing a tab file, tap the instrument icon at the bottom left to see the available instruments and tracks. There, you can select which instrument to display in the music screen. Tap the Speaker icon to mute or unmute any track, or tap "S" to solo any part/instrument. Finally, you can use the arrow to go to the Instrument Mapping screen, where you can select what sound the selected track will play, as well as adjusting the volume of that particular track.*
* Percussion and drum kits have a single volume level, and as such, adjusting the level of a drum kit will also adjust the level of any other percussion tracks found in that tab.
Q: I didn't receive an email, what can I do?
A: If you haven't received an email you were expecting, you may want to first check your spam/junk folders to see if the system message was caught there. Be sure to mark the message as "safe" where applicable. If that doesn't help, press the "Feedback" button on this page, and check to make sure there are no errors in the email address in the form. If the email looks correct, use the Feedback form to contact us, and we can help out asap.
Q: I don't hear any sound, how do I fix this?
A: If you're using an iPhone, first check to see that your ringer switch isn't set to vibrate mode. If it is, flip it over to ring mode to unmute your iPhone. You might also ensure that the volume is turned up on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. Finally, open up a tab file and then open the options screen to confirm that the instrument audio or metronome audio are turned on.
Q: Can you please add support for a particular tab file format?
A: Maybe! Let us know what you'd like to see and we'll look into it. You can give us feedback by pressing the "Feedback" button at the bottom of this screen on your iPhone/iPod touch, or at the top of this screen on your iPad.
Q: How do I delete or rename a tab?
A: On the home screen, if you press the pencil icon on the bottom left, you'll enter edit mode. You can then press the delete icon to remove a tab, or just press the tab row itself to edit the tab name and artist. You can also quickly delete a tab by swiping the row left to right.
Q: I've got an idea that could improve TabToolkit, how should I let you know?
